Job Summary

Director of Patient Access (DPA) supports all Market Access touchpoints to include Healthcare Processional (HCP) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) Clinic processes dealing with Authorizations, Site-of-Care solutions, NS Support communication and collaboration with all NS Pharma support team members. Additionally, DPA will strategize for process solutions within compliance guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Develops and executes geographical strategic and tactical plans to meet customer and business needs.
  • Provides education and support to targeted accounts and HCPs on manufacturer’s support programs and available prior authorization and reauthorization patient access services.
  • Provides assistance to all accounts to help overcome access barriers.
  • Ensures all actions taken create a positive impact on the patient journey.
  • Provides education on NS Support services to facilitate patient access
  • Interacts as needed with stakeholders in all sites-of-care to include physician practices, hospitals and alternative sites of care.
  • Reviews DPA portal information to help resolve issues and coverage challenges.
  • Collaborates with internal teams regarding local payer trends and access issues.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare business administration to include: contracting, billing, coding and other hurdles to access.
  • Extensive knowledge of Commercial, Federal and State Government insurer sectors.
  • Infusion site of care experience, including HOPD, home infusion and alternative infusion centers/sites.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and customer orientation; proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Self-direction coupled with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written, training/presentation.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with payer coverage policies including Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid insurers.
  • Minimum of 3 years healthcare pharmaceutical authorization process experience along with HUB collaboration experience.
  • Preferred: experience with Integrated Delivery Network / Health Systems, medical benefits, buy & bill product(s), billing & coding, specialty pharmacies and/or infusion service providers.  Experience preferred with new drug introduction and utilization in hospitals for HOPD infusion.
